Example (fictional data)

A family in the north of England plans a trip to Spain in spring and needs Schengen visas. The nearest visa centre shows no open dates for weeks, and checking the portal several times a day is wearing them down. They set alerts for Spain at two centres they can reach by train. Four days later an email arrives in the morning: dates have opened at one of them. They log in to the official portal and book the appointment themselves.

How it works

Anyone who has applied for a Schengen visa from the UK, the US, Canada or the UAE knows the problem: the visa centre calendar is full for weeks, and new dates appear at random when someone cancels or when the centre releases more appointments. Those dates are often gone within hours.

VFS Global itself asks applicants to keep checking for available slots at regular intervals. In practice that means opening the portal again and again — before work, at lunch, late at night — and still missing the date that opened while you were busy.

This service does the checking for you. You choose the destination country, for example Spain, France or Italy, and the visa centres you can travel to. We keep watching the appointment availability that visa centres show on their websites and email you as soon as a matching appointment appears.

You can watch several centres and destinations at once. That helps if you live between two cities or if your trip can start in more than one Schengen country. Each alert says which centre and which destination it is about, so you know immediately whether it suits you.

When the alert comes, you log in to the official portal and book the appointment yourself, with your own account. We do not log in for you, do not hold or resell appointments and do not get around any protection on visa centre websites. Your application, your documents and your appointment stay in your hands.

Alerts work best if you are ready to act quickly. Before you start, have your account on the portal set up and your passport details at hand, so that booking takes a couple of minutes rather than half an hour.

You pay once for 30 or 60 days. There is no subscription and nothing renews on its own. Most people need alerts only until they get an appointment, so a fixed period is simpler than a monthly plan.

An alert means that an appointment was visible when we checked. It does not guarantee that the date will still be available when you open the portal, and it does not affect the decision on your visa. We cannot promise that an appointment will appear within your period; that depends on the visa centre.

We ask only for your email address and the centres and destinations you want to watch. We do not need your passport details, and we do not share your email with anyone.

The service is meant for Schengen visa applicants in the UK, the US, Canada and the UAE who apply through VFS Global centres. It is in preparation now: first we are checking whether applicants need it.
